Bolgheri rosso, Podere Grattamacco, 2019

Neighbour to some of the world's most impressive estates, Sassicaia and Ornellaia, the Grattamacco's Bolgheri rosso offers an outstanding value for those who want to discover Super Tuscan wine. The nose is a combo of dark fruits and chocolate, with notes of plum and blackcurrants, elegant and full with a fresh balsamic finish given by the Sangiovese. A dense and powerful wine with ripe tannins, juicy and rich with a striking structure.

Matthew Jukes, Wine Journalist:

"Made from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot and 10% Sangiovese this is a true Super-Tuscan blend and it is baffling just how approachable and delicious this wine is already. When you sink your teeth into its lustrous flanks it bursts with heady, black fruit and discreet herb and spice notes. The oak, alcohol and tannin all sit in the background giving you a truly classy Bolgheri experience at around a tenth of the ticket price of the big guns. Do not hold back because this vintage is an absolute classic and it has only just hit the shelves!"
