Italy

It’s not easy to know where to start with Italy! So much variety…from the very top of the country, either in the Aosta Valley, or on the slopes of the Dolomites, through the hills of Piedmont and Tuscany, down past Campania, into Puglia, and across the water to Sicily, the range of wines produced is staggering. Lots of it, too. Yet it pays to dig and delve, such is the single-minded commitment to quality: there’s a new generation of winemakers coming through who have a deep sense of both preserving, and improving, the culture handed down from their forbears. Indeed, the feeling is that we have barely scratched the surface, there is plenty more still to come.
