Tinto Figuero is every sense a family business. The founding of the winery in 1999 by Jose María Garcia and Milagros Figuero was the culmination of over 5 generations experience growing tempranillo grapes. For centuries, these two families have worked the fields of La Horra in Ribera del Duero, harvesting the grapes, understanding their soils and perfecting their trade. Today Bodegas Tinto Figuero, run by Jose and Milagros’ three children, is made up of over 100 individual plots of nothing but the finest, old vine Tempranillo grape. The family can rightly claim to be one of the very few absolute specialists in producing Spain’s most revered grape.
