And the wine-buying world would seem to support this view, as demand for the likes of Puligny-Montrachet and Gevrey-Chambertin has rocketed over the past decade, with some crazy prices seen at auction. However, that’s very much tip of the iceberg stuff – there’s little better than a glass of generic Bourgogne blanc/rouge.
